We all know Ms Dynamite does a mean high-voltage performance when she touches down on a club stage, but who knew she’d be just as energetic and passionate within the confines of an email interview. Check out our short catch up with UK beat-riding songstress below; admittedly not the most discerning piece of music journalism but her unique use of punctuation sure does get us itching for Friday 4th to come round sooner.
The Nest: 2010 was a mad year for you. What was the catalyst for your bold resurgence in the UK bass music world?
Ms Dynamite: To be honest I was just READY!
TN: You’re in a pretty privileged position to vocal over some of the most important beats in the scene; what attracts you to certain productions?
MD: I can never help but gravitate toward heavy B-lines, rhythmic grooves that MAKE YOU move and AMAZING VIBES on a track!
TN: What was your favourite project of 2010? We at The Nest loved getting our party on to your collaboration with Geeneus on ‘Get Low’…
MD: Like you said, I’ve been really lucky and blessed to work with some AMAZING producers, I couldn’t narrow it down to one, they were ALL GREAT to work with for many different reason and I feel VERY thankful!
TN: You’ve been hanging out in Jamaica recently (lucky lady!) Was it a purely leisure trip or did you take the opportunity to get some inspiration from what’s going on there musically at the moment?
MD: Words cannot define… I’d definitely advise any and everyone to go soak up the sun, sea and music scene in JA…
TN: What female British vocalists will you be watching in 2011?
MD: Roses Gabor is AMAZING! I love her to bits and would definitely recommend EVERYONE watch out for her in 2011!
TN: How is your music received internationally?
MD: So far, AMAZINGLY!
TN: What exciting Ms Dynamite/producer collaborations do you have coming up?
MD: That’d be telling… lol xx
TN: Can we expect an album release this year?
MD: Maybe… lol xx
TN: How do you plan to take over the world in 2011?
MD: With LOVE and POSITIVE ENERGY!!!
